T.I. Performance is proud to again support UNSW Redback Racing as they develop their 2025 electric Formula SAE-A vehicle, RB25. As one of Australia’s leading student motorsport teams, Redback Racing has a long history of innovation, engineering excellence and strong competition results. Their shift towards full electric powertrains and advanced vehicle system design requires precision components they can rely on, which is why we were excited to supply a range of high-performance Raceworks fluid system parts for the RB25’s brake system, suspension hydraulics and battery cooling circuits.
For the RB25, reliability, weight efficiency and serviceability are critical. Every hose, fitting and sealing surface must withstand the harsh conditions of FSAE-A competition: rapid temperature change, vibration, high line pressure and the compact packaging demands of a single-seat electric race car. The Raceworks components supplied deliver professional motorsport-grade performance with the flexibility needed for a custom-engineered platform like RB25.
A key part of the build was Raceworks 200 Series Stainless Braided PTFE Hose, used by the team for brake system plumbing on RB25. This hose offers exceptional pressure and temperature resistance, featuring a smoothbore PTFE inner core wrapped in stainless braid, delivering consistent pedal feel and zero line expansion under braking loads.

Raceworks 200 Series hose is ideal for high-performance brake systems due to:
This hose type is a staple in professional motorsport for a reason. On an electric open-wheeler where thermal load and harsh routing are unavoidable, the combination of PTFE core stability and stainless protection delivers the safety margin an FSAE team needs.
To complement the brake lines, Redback Racing also integrated a selection of Raceworks Stainless Steel Banjo Fittings. These fittings are perfect for compact motorsport applications where clearance is minimal and weight distribution matters. RB25’s suspension uprights and brake caliper mounting areas require low-profile angled fittings that still deliver high flow and seal integrity under competition conditions.
Raceworks stainless banjo fittings offer:
In a Formula SAE environment where every gram counts and every millimetre of space is used, these fittings help teams create clean, reliable brake plumbing that is easy to service and extremely durable.
Battery thermal management is a key performance factor in electric Formula SAE. To support RB25’s cooling system, we supplied Raceworks 400 Series Push-Lock Rubber Hose and matching fittings. This hose is lightweight, flexible and easy to assemble, making it ideal for low-pressure cooling loops in EV battery modules and power electronics.
Key benefits include:
These components provide UNSW Redback Racing with a dependable cooling solution that can be built, modified and serviced quickly.
One tool that has proven particularly useful for customers and teams like UNSW Redback Racing is our Fluid System Builder, a free online application that allows you to design complete fuel, oil, coolant or brake systems using drag-and-drop components. Users can visualise a system layout, save diagrams, share designs with team members and directly purchase all selected parts.
For engineering teams building complex vehicles like RB25, this tool takes the guesswork out of matching hose sizes, adapters and routing while ensuring the final system is both serviceable and compliant with competition rules.
We are excited to follow UNSW Redback Racing as they finalise and compete with their RB25 electric Formula SAE vehicle. Supporting Australian engineering talent is an important part of what we do at T.I. Performance, and we look forward to seeing how the Raceworks fluid systems perform on track. We wish the team every success in the 2025 season and beyond.
